Oliver twist

Had read the novel written by Charles Dickens somewhere in 7th or 8th std. I don't remember liking the novel much, but now I got a chance to watch the movie...

Directed by David Lean, the musical(1948) is a treat to watch. Excellent performance by John Howard Davies, the kid who plays Oliver twist. The sets looks very impressive..the music is too good too.. All characters (Fagin, Nancy, Sikes, Oliver, Artful Dodger and the kids) have played their part well. Oliver's journey from an orphanage to London is well depicted.

A good trailer from apple
here

This movie was also remade couple of times - by Roman Polanski and by Carol Reed. Watch these for the color version.
